Common challenges from the company's perspective are often which of the candidates can actually do the job, how do I produce a job description that contains everything required to carry out the project and what is a reasonable payment.
Sometimes it goes well and the right person is found and the job description set the right expectations for both the freelancer and the company, but sometimes it goes wrong and the outcome is negative.
